Bye Bye Parchment Paper

For Mother’s Day, Mr. Wonderful bought me a Silpat mat.

Problem was, it was about 6 inches too long for my baking pans.

So tonight, we returned it.

And lo and behold, I got two for the price of one.

Bye bye parchment paper.  We don’t need you round here no mo.

You’re too stinkin expensive!

Katie, do you use these for baking cookies, too?
I’ve never tried them! Making your mushrooms w/steak today for dinner. Can’t wait – they look yummy!!!!!

Di – yes that’s mainly what I use them for – they are like using parchment paper but reusable!

  2. Yahoo! What a great deal!
I’ve been admiring these from afar and always forget to ask for them around my birthday and stuff like that.
    How fun.. enjoy!

  3. I’ve never heard of this!
    Where do you get them?

Dawn – we got them at Bed, Bath and Beyond – they are silicone baking mats that keep your baked goods from sticking (no spraying or greasing required) and also from burning or browning on the bottoms. Williams-Sonoma carries them aslo, but I believe they’re much higher $$ there.

  4. Jealous! You’re gonna be able to make so much good stuff now that you have a silpat… Nothing will stick! 😉
